With XOIP it is now possible to publish audio messages via social media like Facebook and Twitter.
All you need to do, is to sign up for a free 084 XOIP number. Obtaining a XOIP local number is also possible at a subscription price of EUR 9.50 (or 85 per year). See the XOIP website for more information on subscribing to a XOIP number.
Should you already have a XOIP number, you can simply use that number, or add another XOIP number to your account.
So how does a Voice Tweet work?
After obtaining a XOIP number, you can link this number to your Facebook or Twitter account. Detailed instructions on configuring your Voice Tweet number can be found on our website. Then you only need to call this number and leave a message, to share the message with your social network. Friend, family and other followers will receive a link to enable them to play back the message.
It is also possible to secure your Voice Tweet number with a PIN code, but not required. This enables your friends and relatives to call the number and leave messages too.
Why Voice Tweet?
Voice Tweet is very practical when you are in situations where you are not able to access the Internet. It is a convenient way to keep your family and friends up to date with your adventures while on holiday, or even, for example, to report on that thrilling game that you are attending.
Thanks to XOIP it is possible to forward calls to your Skype number..
This means that your contacts, family and friends can call your XOIP number instead of your Skype number. Provided that this number is diverted to your Skype number, you can then answer this call via Skype in the usual way. More detailed information can be found on the XOIP website.
If you are not online, the call will be diverted to your XOIP voicemail and you will receive the voice message in your email.
Diverting your XOIP number to Skype certainly has some very attractive benefits.
The first advantage is that you can cancel your KPN subscription when subscribing to a XOIP Local number and you no longer need to pay those monthly subscription fees. Forwarding to Skype is free and your callers pay the normal rates.
Another advantage of a XOIP Local is that you are able to simulate a virtual office in The Netherlands. When you receive a call on this local Dutch number, you can answer the call via Skype, wherever in the world you may be. Being reachable on a local number in stead of Skype will also make client feel more confident. See our website to see how you can request a local Dutch number.
Even if you travel often, you can be reached on you XOIP number rather than your mobile number. Should you not be able to answer the call, it will be forwarded to your XOIP voicemail.
All the above will only be possible if you are able to configure Skype – more information on this on our website under Skype Connect.

XOIP can, for example, take over your current fax number. This takes around 5-7 business days. To do this, you will need to sign up for a one-year, or longer, XOIP subscription. If a number needs to be ported from an ISDN2-subscription, XOIP needs to take over all numbers from this registration. If this is the case, you will need to inform XOIP about it.
All XOIP services are available to ported numbers. After porting, your number will not be available on your fax machine or phone and all faxes and voice mail messages will be forwarded to your email. This saves you costs from your existing telecom provider, when you for example forward your phone.
You can use XOIP as a voice mail and fax service when your numbers are forwarded to XOIP. This feature is available to both personal and business numbers. When you call someone, your telecom provider will forward this call to your XOIP number. Your telecom provider charges money for this. These are the same costs that you would pay if you call your XOIP number from your phone. The person calling you will pay the regular costs of a call to your phone. You pay for the call costs from your phone to your XOIP number.
You can also XOIP to replace the voice mail-service of your mobile operator. An interesting benefit is, for example, the ability to use email to listen to messages left on your mobile phone while you are overseas. You will not have to pay the high roaming costs.
In forwarding your number to, among others, Skype, XOIP first tries to connect the call. If a connection cannot be made, the call is automatically forwarded to voice mail. If you do not forward your calls, XOIP voicemail will automatically take the call.
