What has changed on the new platform?
XOIP has a brand new platform, recognisable from its blue color (instead of the old green). Existing accounts have been migrated over with all their settings and call history.
What changes? The XOIP services remain the same but the inner workings of the system and the user interface have been completely renewed, with some new features. These are important things you should know:
Record your voicemail greeting on the website
You can now record your voicemail greeting on the XOIP website. When logged in, go to ‘Voice’ and open the call plan for your number. Click ‘Edit’ in the voicemail bar. In the panel that opens you have the option to select the standard Dutch or English greeting, to record a greeting, or to upload an audio file. It is no longer possible to record your voicemail greeting by calling your own XOIP number.
If you recorded a greeting on the old green platform, it has been copied over and is active on the new platform.
No more voice menu
On the old platform you could call your own number and perform various features, such as recording your welcome greeting and listening to voicemails. We decided not to bring this voice menu over to the new platform. So calling your own number will be the same for you as when someone else calls your number.
Office hours and call groups: coming soon
For most people the new user interface contains all the features they were using on the old platform. However, office hours and call groups have not yet been implemented. We are still working hard to finish those features. If you had set up these features on old XOIP, they will continue to work, but for the moment, you cannot change the settings in the user interface. Better support for multiple PDFs
You can now submit multiple PDF files through both email and the web UI and select if they will be sent out as one fax or multiple faxes.
New email to fax address: <faxnumber>@fax.xoip.com
If you submit your outbound faxes by email you have to start using a new email address: <faxnumber>@fax.xoip.com.
The old address, <faxnumber>@sendfax.xoip.com, will continue to work but will continue to work but will lack the new features.
Email-to-fax verification has been switched off
From now we will immediately process email-to-faxes coming from registered email addresses. With our upgraded security it is no longer necessary to verify if the fax is coming from you. If you prefer to keep the 2-step verification in place you can switch it back on under security settings.
Processed PDFs no longer viewable under your account
To adhere to the highest possible security and privacy standards PDFs will only be stored by us as long as strictly necessary. As a consequence processed faxes are no longer visible in the UI and cannot be send again from there.
TIFF format no longer available for incoming faxes
Incoming faxes can only be received in PDF format. TIFF format is no longer supported. Outbound faxes can still be uploaded or emailed in in TIFF.
